This course emphasizes the relevancy and critical importance of psychological science as applied to design questions and challenges. 

Course expectations include that each student choose a design challenge where science of psychology informs design solutions that promote positive change in social, health, behavioral, cognitive or emotional function and optimality.

When students create, mock-up, or fabricate solutions they often experience joy and satisfaction along with greater confidence in their ability to apply psychological science to their world. 

A major and underlying purpose of this course is to provide students with the processes, methodologies, and experiences working at an industrial design firm, such as IDEO and SmartDesign.
