One Health

What is "One Health" ?  (under construction, 5/23)

One Health is a big picture approach to understanding health.  Here One Health is a scientific and policy approach that considers how the health of all living things and the Earth too are interconnected into one dynamically evolving whole.  Therefore, a decision or change made in one specific field of existence or inquiry will likely influence (maybe profoundly) other fields of existence or inquiry.  Thus, scientists ought to train their vision skills to both focus intently on their work, and broadly scan the context and horizon surrounding their work for intended, unintended, and possible influences over people, processes and the environment, both in the immediate and future extents.

Our labs are committed to the vision of One Health.  As we address and study the health of people, clients, patients and animals, we ask ourselves how our treatments, science, and investigations might influence the families, the citizens, the pets, and the all encompassing environments of home, work, play and extended ecosystems.
