Term Paper Requirements: Basic Criteria


Page Count Criteria for Term Paper:

  1. Title Page (1 page)

  2. Abstract (1 page)

  3. Literature Review (11 to 13 + pages)

  4. Integrated Theoretical Model Explained + Relevance (2 to 3 + pages)

  5. Discussion (2 to 5 + pages)

  6. References (2 to 5 + pages)

  7. Tables and Figures (1 to 2 + pages)


Relative Paper Lengths (20 to 28 pages +)

Question: Approximate Number of Words for Main Body of Text?

Answer: = 250 words times 15 pages = 3750 word minimum

(Main Body does not include Title, Abstract, and Reference pages & the Figure page = 5 pages)

General Process and Content Criteria:

  • APA Format Requirement and use 12pt Times New Roman Font.

  • Topic is Chosen by Student

  • Topic is Approved by Professor

  • Student conducts library research on Topic

  • Student create an Outline for writing paper

  • Student collects and cites at least 21 references (Primary and Secondary Resources)

  • Student reviews references for cause and effect relations to create BA model

  • Typically, a student selects three BA Diagrams (from three different references) and Combines them into his/her/they own BA Integrated-Theoretical Model (i.e., an “iTheory”). Remember the "Maggie Hall Demonstration" shown in class.

  • Paper Presentations (Instructions will be given to you by your professor)
